What makes Peikkometsä Ristinummi so special?

Opened in August 2025, our daycare has been thoughtfully designed with children’s needs in mind. Each group enjoys large and open play areas tailored for their daily adventures. Although the building houses eight child groups in total, every group has its own cozy “nest” shared with familiar educators.

We’ve created a variety of additional spaces for small-group activities, along with a lovely shared gym. Fixed equipment like climbing walls and wall bars can be found not only in the gym but also in the group rooms—encouraging children to move freely throughout the day. Our goal is to inspire movement through spaces that are engaging, supportive, and full of playful energy.

Peikkometsä’s outdoor areas are truly one-of-a-kind—and Ristinummi is no exception! On the forest side, children can enjoy Taikatunturi, a stunning climbing tower, multiple climbing routes, a playfield, and even a sledding hill in winter. In the front yard, little riders will love the scooter track, and of course there are swings, sandboxes, and a smaller climbing frame for our youngest adventurers. There’s something for every child to explore in this joyful outdoor space!

Leading Ristinummi daycare is Elina Eerola, one of Peikkometsä’s most experienced educators. Elina previously worked at our Nastola location before stepping into this exciting new role. She’s known for her warmth, positivity, and approachable leadership style—meeting each child and adult with genuine care and a smile.

Thanks to her extensive background in early childhood education, Elina brings a deep understanding of what makes early education both high-quality and meaningful. She knows how to nurture strong, caring relationships with children and families, and how to make movement a joyful part of everyday life.
