Peikkometsä was born from the idea of creating a daycare where both children and educators truly feel at home. We are a Finnish-owned, movement-focused daycare, and the very first Peikkometsä opened in Nastola, Lahti, in 2016. At the heart of everything we do are a warm and nurturing atmosphere, well-being, and healthy living—for both children and our staff.

Movement is a natural part of our daily life. At Peikkometsä, children move freely and joyfully through both guided activities and self-led play. Our indoor and outdoor spaces are designed for active little explorers full of curiosity and energy. We are constantly developing and improving our approach to movement and strive to support every child in moving with joy and confidence.
Nutritious and Wholesome Food
For little ones who love to move, good nutrition matters. We provide healthy, diverse meals made from high-quality ingredients to support children’s overall health and well-being. In our Lahti daycares, all meals are prepared in our own kitchen, ensuring freshness and quality.
When planning our menus, we follow official nutritional recommendations and take special diets and vegetarian options into account. Mealtimes are an important part of our early education day—we emphasize good table manners and kindness toward others at the table.
